Broughton Castle, home of Lord and Lady Saye & Sele

Broughton Castle is a medieval fortified manor house in the village of Broughton, which is near Banbury in Oxfordshire, England. It is the home of the Fiennes family, Barons Saye, and Sele. The ownership of the castle has remained in the same family since 1447. The gardens are open to the public on various days in the summer and house tours are available by arrangement. Below are some still pictures from the Broughton Castle video.

Broughton Castle has been selected for a wide range of film shoots, including feature films, TV dramas, and TV commercials as well as fashion and other photo shoots.

It is an ideal film location being only just over one hour’s drive from West London. Exteriors and interiors provide a range of different location opportunities – unspoiled parkland, gatehouse, moat, battlements, fortified manor house/castle, chapel, great hall, picture gallery, library, dining room, armor, and wonderful gardens including the formal Ladies’ Garden. A range of styles is apparent – medieval, Tudor / Elizabethan, and some gothic interiors.

Notable previous film and other location hires include:
Wolf Hall – filmed 2014, showing BBC2 six episodes, Jan / Feb 2015
Jane Eyre (2011)
Shakespeare in Love (1998)
The Madness of King George (1994)
Three Men and a Little Lady (1987)
