Famagusta, St Barnabas Monastery in North Cyprus

St. Barnabas Monastery is dedicated to the patron saint of Cyprus, St. Barnabas. The church is now an icon museum housing a stunning collection of Cypriot artefacts dating back as far as the 7th Century BC. Near the monastery there is a small mausoleum built on the spot where the saint’s remains were discovered. There is a cave under the building that is the grave of St Barnabas.
